Solaris hits the small screen

So this morning we had a note from our pal Jason...

There's a new show on USA Network called "Burn Notice." It's a spy-action-comedy. Good stuff. Anyways, a Czech assassin was after the main character. The main character breaks into the assassin's hotel room, and as he's pilfering through the man's stuff, what does he find? A copy of your Solaris sf antho!

Yup. It's in episode four of new show Burn Notice, if you want to look out for it on reruns or (hem-hem) online archiving services. We would have let you know about it sooner, but not being US-based we didn't know exactly when it would air. UPDATE: we now have screen captures!

Not quite "blink and you'll miss it" either, as he does spend a few moments flicking through it - and he doesn't make a sour face... result! Of course, it would have been even better if he sat and contemplated it for a moment and said "Cool. This guy's got real taste. This is the best SF anthology in decades. I deduce from this that our target is intelligent, witty, and devastatingly attractive to women. And it says here it's available at all good bookstores now..." but I guess you can't have everything.

Being approached to give permission for our book to be included was an insight into a rarely-seen world. The guys at the show's production company had a standard legal form for us to sign, with all manner of fascinating clauses. We, in turn, were keen to know how the book was going to be used in the show. Some folks though they wouldn't want it featured if someone was bludgeoned to death with it, but hey, I tried to argue, all publicity is good publicity...
