Happy New Year, n'all that

Was Santa kind to you then, or did you get a lump of coal in your stocking? And where's the sun gone? It's dark, wet, and cold. But, bleary eyed and still hungover, we march triumphantly into 2008 with some sparklingly nice reviews.

The Solaris Book Of New Fantasy gets a thorough review at SFF World.

And Black Magic Woman, the start of a fabulous new series by Justin Gustainis, gets great reviews at Love Vampires and on the Genre Go Round blog.

There are some wonderful things being said about this book already. Just check out Justin's website for more of these, but here's a couple:

"Urban fantasy lovers who enjoy the works of Km Harrison, Tanya Huff and Jim Butcher will thoroughly appreciate Black Magic Woman. Justin Gustainis must own a magic word processor..."
— Harriet Klausner, Speculative Fiction Reviews

"Smart, sexy, and supernatural—Black Magic Woman goes for the throat and doesn't let up until the very last page. I wish I'd written this book; it's a hell of a ride."
— Lilith Saintcrow, author of Working for the Devil and To Hell and Back

More when we've woken up.
