I Say! Steampunk, Anyone?

Ladies and Gentlemen of the genre:

For you perusal and delectation, we have an urgent missive from distinguished publisher Solaris Books, concerning a spiffing new title: Extraordinary Engines: The Definitive Steampunk Anthology, edited by that most esteemed explorer of the aether, Sir Nick Gevers.

Airships, automatons and aether ... Extraordinary Engines is a new anthology of original stories featuring a range of Steampunk-inspired stories by authors including Daniel Abraham, Kage Baker, Stephen Baxter, Beth Bernobich, Eric Brown, Keith Brooke, Paul Di Filippo, Hal Duncan, Jeffrey Ford, Jay Lake, Margo Lanagan, James Lovegrove, Ian R. MacLeod, Michael Moorcock, James Morrow, Kim Newman, Robert Reed, Chris Roberson, Adam Roberts, Lucius Shepard, Brian Stableford, Jeff VanderMeer and Marly Youman. All stories are original to this collection.

We have also commissioned Alex CF of Many Dead Things, best known for his Steampunk creations, to produce a new contraption to be used in the cover photography for the book.

Extraordinary Engines: The Definitive Steampunk Anthology will be published simultaneously in both the US and UK by Solaris, in paperback, Fall 2008.

ISBN, my dear fellows, are:

UK - 978-1-84416-634-3
US - 978-1-84416-600-8

We've only just announced the book, so it should be listed on Amazon ASAP.

Ebook editions are only currently planned for formats compatible with a Babbage difference engine...

Will that be all, chaps?
