Solaris make "Year's Best"

We've only been around in the SF publishing world for a mayfly's lifespan as yet, so we're thoroughly delighted that a story from The Solaris Book of New Science Fiction has been selected for one of the prestigious Year's Best collections. Compiler Jonathan Strahan has chosen Stephen Baxter's fine elegy "Last Contact" for inclusion in the forthcoming The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year Volume 2. Jonathan, we salute your exquisite taste :-) The collection will be in stores March 2008, from Night Shade. If you can't wait - and to be honest the story really is that good - you can read Stephen's story, along with a varied selection of other tales, still vying for the attention of compilers of some of the other Best Of collections, in the original anthology, in all better bookstores now.
